Jazz-A-Ma-Tazz

Jazz for the swing-set set – Hayes Greenfield’s Jazz-A-Ma-Tazz is a lively, fun, educational, interactive music performance that entertains, captivates and engages the imaginations of diverse audiences from ages 3 to 104 (well, maybe 105!).

Hayes and his band take audiences on an educational jazz journey of call-and-response, scat singing, dancing, interpretive sound and just plain old beboppin’. Everyone gets a chance to perform and become a part of the ensemble, inspiring self-expression and celebrating the creative process.

Jazz-A-Ma-Tazz bandleader, sax player and creator Hayes Greenfield is an exciting musician whose warmth, enthusiasm and charismatic style endear him to kids and grownups alike. Few can resist his gift for sharing the joys of jazz and his love for uncovering the “inner jazz musician” in each of us. He has been active on the New York City jazz scene since the late 1970s as a producer, composer, saxophonist, filmmaker, bandleader and educator.

Performances range from 45 to 60 minutes in duration and Hayes’ bands can extend from a duo (with bass and/or piano) up to a sextet, which includes a drummer, tap dancer and vocalist.
